Howdy all! The time has arrived for a new and updated release to the classic M40 scope - 'the green one.'

This scope would be right at home in a history-focused CMP build. Originally found on the M40 platform fielded by the Marines, this scope is often referred to as the green one. With its distinctive green coating, dual focal plane reticle, and covered turrets, this scope is as comfortable on the battlefield as it is on the hunt.
Tech Specs
- 1" tube
- 40mm objective
- 3.25" eye relief
- 10.5" length
- 17oz weight
- Dual focal plane reticle
- ¼ MOA clicks
The Reticle
This scope has a rather unusual reticle, both from an optical and design standpoint. It has two sections - one part first focal plane, the other second focal plane. One part is wire, while the other is etched glass.
The main crosshairs are wire, and sit in the second focal plane. As you zoom in or out, the main crosshairs will stay the same size. This makes the crosshairs just as easy to line up at 3X as they are at 9X.
The tombstone sits in the first focal plane on etched glass. As you change magnification, the tombstone will change size, growing or shrinking. Marked on the tombstone is a set of distances, from 200 to 600 yards. At any given moment, one distance or another will be sitting against the edge of the sight picture. If you’ve used the parallel ranging lines at the top of the reticle to size an 18” target, the tombstone will indicate the distance to the target.
Updates
The internals of the scope have been upgraded from both our previous version of the M40 and the historical M40 (if you can find one these days…).
Most notably, previously brass components have been swapped out for stainless steel. This means increased durability and more defined clicks, despite the weight remaining relatively the same.
The lenses have received both a larger footprint on the internal threads, and strengthened backstops. While our glass is already more sturdy than the original M40 scopes, this also means the scope as a whole has greater resistance to heavy recoil.
