Malcolm 6X Short Telescopic Sight

Fine Vintage Riflescopes for Fine Vintage Rifles...

William Malcolm is the oldest name in scope manufacturing, originally established in 1855. Malcolm Optics has stepped back in the time to redesign this historic line of telescopic rifle sights, providing today’s shooter a period correct scope with modern optics.

Both the 3X 17″ and 6X 18″ Malcolm scopes are ideal for many of the single-shot and lever-action cartridge rifles produced during the late 1880s and 1890s. An ever growing selection of the mounts and accessories now include the side mounts for various sharps rifle models, Winchester Model 1885 rifle, H&R “ Buffalo Classic”, Winchester ’73, ’76, ’92 & ‘94 models, Henry “Golden Boy” .22, Marlin ’94 / ’95 models, and others.

Every glass lens in the Malcolm 3X short scope is fully multi-coated. The scope is also nitrogen purged and sealed. The Malcolm 3X and 6X short scope are among the finest quality reproduction vintage riflescopes available today!

Very Nice Optics, Poor Mount
Hi John, Unfortunately, our Lyman style micrometer mount (SKU# MUSMCMT) needs to be mounted on crescent cut bases. The standard 1/2' bases that come with the Malcolm 6X short scope has both crescent and posa cuts. At this time, our W1885MT kit's mounting blocks do not have the crescent cut for the Lyman or Unertl style mounts. In order to use the Malcolm 6X short scope with the Lyman style mounts on the Winchester 1885, you will need to drill 2 blank bases and the barrel. The rear base will need to be drilled and tapped to the same hole spacing on the receiver. The front base and barrel will need to be drilled and tapped. To get 1/4 MOA clicks on the Lyman style mount, the front and rear mounts will need to be spaced 7.200'. We would love to help you troubleshoot and get the Malcolm scope mounted. Please give us a call at (310)257-8142 and we can send you the blank bases if you are interested. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns. - Hi-Lux Optics
